The Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) is established under the Tourism Act, No. 28 of 2011 (the Act). KICC’s mandate is to promote business of meetings, conferences and exhibitions. This entails:-

  • Organizing and hosting meetings and providing incentives for conferences and exhibitions at the Convention Centre;
  • Developing and implementing the national meetings, incentives for conferences and exhibitions strategy, in collaboration with the Tourism Board upon consultation with the relevant stakeholders;
  • Marketing the Convention Centre, in collaboration with the Tourism Board; and
  • Perform any other functions that are ancillary to the object and purpose for which the Convention Centre is established.

KICC is in the process of recruiting suitable persons and invites applications for the following posts:-


An officer at this level will work under direct supervision of a Principal Marketing Officer and is responsible for overseeing the Corporation’s marketing campaigns both internally and externally and play a key part in communicating the organizations marketing message.


  • Preparing, planning and project managing the publication of all publicity material to maximize brand promotion.
  • Creating marketing campaigns and working with the Corporation’s external Public Relation agency to see them executed.
  • Creating and developing new innovative ways to communicate the Corporation’s message to the existing customers.
  • Contributing to the annual sales and marketing plan.
  • Planning and project managing marketing events and evaluating their success.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of all marketing activity.
  • Developing and implementing an internal marketing programme.
  • Supporting the Marketing Manager in day to day marketing activities.
  • Plan, develop and deliver campaigns as agreed within timescales.


For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any of the followings; Tourism Management, Commerce,Business Administration (Marketing Option) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  • Have a minimum period of six (6) years relevant work experience of three (3) should have been at a level of senior officer.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Supervisory course lasting not less than two (2) weeks.
  • Fulfilling the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
