About the Role

DDD is recruiting a Marketing Assistant for our client Salix Data to be based in Nairobi. Marketing assistant’s primary role is to help create and deliver marketing strategies and campaigns for SALIX and offer support for our U.S based marketing team

The Marketing Assistant will plan and oversee the organization’s marketing activities and campaigns. The successful candidate will be the one to ensure that all marketing operations are successful in meeting the goals set by management. The goal is to ensure that the marketing efforts of the company add the highest value to its business.


    • Write marketing literature (brochures, press releases etc) to augment the company’s presence in the market
    • Devise marketing campaigns
    • Undertake market research and establish the best way to reach target groups
    • Write, edit and proofread marketing material for use in different channels
  • Analyze the impact of marketing campaigns and prepare measurement reports
  • Write press releases and communicate with the media
  • Writing reports, company brochures and similar documents and analyzing questionnaires
  • Organizing and hosting presentations and customer visits
  • Contributing in the implementation of marketing strategies
  • Supporting marketing executives and /or the president in organizing various projects
  • Employ marketing analytics techniques to gather important data (social media, web analytics, rankings etc.)
  • Update spreadsheets, databases and inventories with statistical, financial and non-financial information
  • Prepare promotional presentations in MS PowerPoint
  • Compose and post online content on the company’s website and social media accounts
  • Supporting the marketing manager in overseeing the department’s operations
  • Coordinate with outside agencies, for example designers, to produce marketing material such as stationery and web pages


    • Writing skills – Among the key skills a marketing assistant will have is the ability to write copy. The medium will be varied – the web, email, brochures, newsletters, press releases – but all require engaging copy for them to successfully convey marketing messages.
    • Solid knowledge of marketing techniques and principles.
    • Good understanding of market research techniques, statistical and data analysis methods
    • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and marketing software (e.g. CRM)
  • Thorough understanding of social media and web analytics, particularly LinkedIn and Google AdWords
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Creativity and commercial awareness
  • Detail Oriented – achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task.
