Medical Specialist (Anaestheologist) (4 Positions)

JOB AND APPOINTMENT SPECIFICATIONS

For appointment to this grade; a candidate must:

  • Have served for a minimum period of three (3) years in the grade of Assistant Director of Medical Services/Medical Specialist.
  • A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree froma university recognized in Kenya;
  • A Master’s degree in the disciplines of Anaesthesia;
  • A certificate of registration by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board;
  • A valid Practicing licence from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board;

Duties and Responsibilities

  • An officer at this level shall be responsible to the Deputy Director of Medical Services. Specific duties and responsibilities include:
  • performing complex and advanced clinical patient management in area of
  • specialization including; Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Anaesthesia, PublicHealth or other specialties;
  • Coordinating medical emergency response and clinical care;
  • Coordinate training, coaching and mentoring of health personnel;
  • Managing health stores including essential medicines and/or plant and equipment;
  • Developing intervention activities or programs for the management of diseases and conditions developing Medical Standards Operating Procedures (SOPs) andprotocols;
  • Developing training curricular and syllabi in collaboration with training institutions;

Radiographers (15 Positions)

Qualifications

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a:

  • Diploma in any of the following fields; Diagnostic Radiography/Medical ImagingSciences, Ultrasound, Computerized Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy and Digital Medical imaging equipment or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C (plain) inEnglish/Kiswahili, Biology/ Biological Sciences or Physics/ Physical Sciences andC- (minus) in Mathematics; and

Responsibilities

Accounting Assistant

Job And Appointment Specifications for Project Accounting Assistant

  • The main role of the accounting assistants will be to support the ProjectAccountant by performing clerical tasks.
  • This including processing and recording transactions, preparing reports andbudgets, fact checking, filing, and other duties, as needed.
  • Understand basic accounting principles and proficient with computers andsoftware, such as MS Excel.
  • Should be trustworthy, efficient, and organized.

Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Project Accountant include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation, Review and filing of payroll and payroll documents including Payslipgeneration and statutory deductions submissions to the respective bodies (NHIF, NSSF, PAYE, HELB) monthly for all the contracted project staff
  • Liaising with Project Accountants in on all the financial matters.
  • Collecting and consolidating the financial statements from the project onquarterlybasis.

Procurement Assistant

NPHLS Medical Laboratory Officers (5 Positions)

Specifications for Laboratory Officers/ Technologists. 

Laboratory Technologists/officers will be responsible for managing specimen andcarryingout testing in any laboratory located within the National public Health Reference Laboratories. The officers will report directly to the managers in respective laboratories.

Minimum requirements

  • Holder of a Bachelor of Science/Diploma in a medical laboratory scienc
  • Sufficient knowledge on molecular testing procedures, analysis and interpretation
  • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution
  • Previous attachment, internship or employment in a molecular biology laboratoryconducting PCR, ELIZA and related tests is an added advantag

The Ministry of Health is seeking to recruit 1 Clinical officer to be deployedinanylaboratory located within the National public Health Reference Laboratories. The officers will report directly to the managers in respective laboratories.

Scope of work

  • Supervise disinfection of all trucks whose crew are found to be COVID-19positive

Counselling Psychologists

Key responsibilities

The Psychologists officers in health will:

  • Conduct psychological assessment and diagnosis of clients.
  • Provision of pre and post-test counselling tailored to COVID 19.
  • Provide Psychological first aid (PFA) and other appropriate psychological interventions to different target audiences: (People in quarantine, Persons withCOVID 19 & their families, Health care workers & frontline workers includingresponse teams, Persons in recovery, Survivors of Gender Based Violence, Personsin prisons, Families of the bereaved, General public)
  • Develop treatment plans and possible referrals.
  • Follow up on client progress.
  • Provide continuous psychoeducation to clients, families and caregivers.
  • Clinical supervision for mental health service providers.
  • Rehabilitation & reintegration of persons in recovery.
  • Take part in mandatory training by the MOH on COVID-19 and the frameworkfor response in Kenya. The Psychologists will also be expected to take part incontextualized PFA training (to the current epidemic), to refreshtheirunderstanding of any previous training that they may have had on PFA.  Be on call to deliver MHPSS interventions as requested and dictated by thedutyrota.
  • Be part of a Quarantine Centre team, headed by both a lead andClinical supervisor.
  • Prepare daily reports of their activities, in a format that will be given tothembythe MHPSS Committee.

Qualifications and experience

The ideal candidate for the Psychologists officers in health will have the following;

  • A Bachelor’s degree in either medical psychology, health psychology or anyotherrelevant and equivalent qualification in a health-related field froma recognizedinstitution.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience as a psychologist
