Job Description

Kenya Institute of Social Work and Community Development is a Training Institution without any Governmental, Religious or political affiliation. KISWCD was started in 1997 and incorporated on 22nd June 2000.

Project Management Trainer

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR TRAINERS

  • Have a good knowledge and expertise in theory and practical relevant to the area of training
  • Prepare course outlines and teaching materials and deliver in at least three units
  • Prepare and update course curriculum as stipulated by the Institute and regulatory bodies
  • Use appropriate teaching, learning support and assessment methods
  • Use a range of delivery of subject techniques
  • Supervise student projects and business plans
  • Supervise students on in- training and those on attachment
  • Set, mark and assess work and examinations in both theory and practical and provide feedback to the students as per the Institutes regulations
  • Manage the delivery of individual and collaborative research projects
  • Be a responsible team member and collaborate with colleagues to respond to students’ needs
  • Be a good role model to students and mentor them
  • Handle administrative duties in admissions, time-tabling, examinations, assessment of progress and student attendance, participate in open days and student marketing activities
  • Meet deadlines in subject delivery, handling of examinations.

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in the relevant field
  • Diploma in Technical Education (KTTC)
  • 2 years’ experience in training
  • Knowledge of KNEC/NITA examination procedures

Credit Control Officer

Duties and responsibilities

Reporting to the Principal the Credit Control Officer will perform a wide range of duties and responsibilities. These may include, but are not limited to:

  • Chasing up overdue payments via telephone and email
  • Resolving customer queries and issues
  • Reviewing credit applications and references
  • Setting credit limits
  • Receipting, allocation and reconciliation of payments to customer’s accounts
  • Solve problems regarding incorrect payments
  • Managing the Days Sales Outstanding figure
  • Preparing journal entries
  • Producing monthly Aged Debtor Reports
  • Highlighting problem customers to senior management
  • Assessing institute’s risk
  • Referring debts to third party collection agencies when necessary
  • Assisting the broader accounts team with ad hoc tasks

Skills and attributes:

  • Understanding of the end to end Accounts Receivable process
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Management
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Tenacity and ability to have difficult conversations
  • Willingness to escalate debt issues
  • Intermediate computer software skills, including Excel and Accounting packages

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma in Business Management
  • CPA-K or ACCA;
  • Minimum of five (3) years in credit management/credit control
  • Understanding of the end to end Accounts Receivable process

Driver/Officer Messenger

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Driving the company vehicle(s) to designated and pre-authorized points.
  • Maintaining the vehicle’s log/schedule.
  • Ensuring the mechanical soundness of the vehicle by alerting the administrator of the due date for service.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.
  • Maintaining and securing tools and accessories related to the vehicle (including first aid kit, fire extinguisher, life savers, spare wheels etc.)
  • Ensuring timely picking and delivery of parcels from the company offices and other assigned destinations.
  • Take clients for special site visits as requested by management.
  • Running pre-authorized errands and other logistical duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

 KCSE Certificate as a minimum qualification.

  • Valid driving license of at least 3 years’ accident-free driving experience.
  • Valid PSV License of at least 3 years.
  • Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
  • Training in defensive driving will be an added advantage.
  • Must be polished, smart and with excellent eyesight.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English and Swahili.
  • Reliable individual with good decision making and customer service skills.
  • Must be able to provide References from previous employers.

Social Work Trainer
