UX Team at Grafana Labs

You will join a growing team of more than 19 UX Designers and Researchers based across 3 continents. You’ll grow professionally and have fun with your colleagues; we like to invest in our team with onboarding plans, career advancement opportunities, and mentorship.

On a day-to-day basis, you will work closely with Product Managers, Go to Market, and engineering teams. You will interact frequently and conduct research with our customers. You will mix strategic and high-level work with creating detailed designs. You will be working with the Self Serve team, where you’ll have the chance to run experiments, solve complex interaction issues, research and design new products, and create better integration experiences between our features. You can count on fast feedback cycles: we run company-wide feedback sessions weekly, and our software is continuously released – your ideas will be put into users’ hands very quickly.

Who are we looking for

  • You are comfortable working in a remote-first company; communication is key. For us, working together means being collaborative, friendly, kind and respectful. We operate by consensus, you can contribute to a discussion but then commit to the team decision.
  • You have at least 3 years of experience as a UX/UI or Product designer. We are a design team of 20 people working remotely on a product used by over 5 million users – the ability to work on your own and ship designs is crucial.
  • You have a good understanding of a holistic UX process and have a strong user-centered approach when making design decisions. You easily build an understanding of users’ context, goals, and motivations.
  • You know how to transform insights into ideas – you are able to prototype and validate them through research or usability testing. You are able to communicate those ideas clearly and are solid in written and spoken English.
  • You have a good understanding of accessibility in web solutions and have experience designing solutions that follow accessibility standards.
  • You enjoy working on complex solutions – Grafana is a highly technical product and has passionate users who rely on it daily.

Field Engineer

The Field Engineering team works closely with our Presales Solution Engineering team, as well as Product and Marketing, to ensure the SE’s have the tools, collateral, enablement and experts they need to close business. If you’ve ever served in a Technical Presales role for a software company, you know just how much knowledge you are expected to have, demos you need to show at the drop of a hat, workshops you need to execute on, etc. The Field Engineering team will offload the technical heavy lifting from the Solution Engineering team so they can focus on selling, community building, learning, and other adoption and revenue focused activities.

As a Field Engineer, your primary customer is the Presales Solution Engineering team. Ideally you will be someone who has served in a presales role before and as such, will have a deep understanding of what it takes to be successful in that role. You will be responsible for designing, developing and delivering Technical presentations and whitepapers, Product demonstrations and Product workshops to the SE’s for them to deliver to prospects/customers and the community. Building these will require you to work across departments, often engaging with Product Management and Marketing, Engineering and our Customer Experience teams. You will also become a SME on one or more of our products enabling you to assist the field with deep dive technical meetings, large strategic POV’s, blogs, webinars and more.

Requirements

  • Technical experience, serving as a Developer, Architect and/or successful presales Solution Architect. OSS selling experience is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of at least one of the technologies in the Observability space, eg. Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, Tempo, Elastic, Splunk, Datadog, etc.
  • Comfortable with at least one modern programming language.
  • Understanding of the modern software development lifecycle, including debugging, investigation.
  • Working familiarity with Linux, including common tools.
  • Should be able to Architect a Modern application on one of the primary cloud providers (AWS, Azure or GCP), including IAC tools such as Terraform, understand the tradeoffs between build vs buy, the technologies that you would make up that architecture like Kubernetes, Docker, Serverless, Microservices and many more.
  • Experience building and delivering technical for technical folks. This includes Workshops, Demos, Decks, Webinars, Videos etc.

International Controller

We’re looking for an International Controller to help manage, develop, and scale our accounting department at Grafana. In this role, you’ll be responsible for owning the international accounting function while building Grafana’s Finance function for the future. A successful candidate should be comfortable with a fast-paced, dynamic, ambiguous environment, effectively manage multiple competing priorities with significant autonomy, and demonstrate high-quality judgment. If you are a quick learner who can think strategically while staying organized, paying attention to details and diving deep when needed, then this opportunity is for you.

This position will report to our VP of Accounting, Tax & Treasury and has the opportunity to work remotely. We’re looking for someone to join our team immediately.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and publish timely monthly & quarterly financial statements;
  • Establish, implement, manage and monitor critical accounting and reporting policies, processes and associated metrics;
  • Work closely with management team, set standards and drive compliance across the entire organization.
  • Oversee finance operations including: reporting, general ledger accounting, accounts payable, tax preparation and internal/external audit for international subsidiaries.
  • Lead and build global accounting team including hiring and providing clear direction on strategy, goals and development.
  • Establish and implement accounting policies and financial controls related to spending authorizations, cash management and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintain and enhance financial system integrity through data clean-up, process improvements and system feature/capability upgrades.
  • Be a change agent for improving financial processes, establishing standard work/procedures, upgrading systems/technology and driving cost reductions.
  • Assist with and able to take accountability for detailed-oriented projects such as accounting system implementations, business process improvements and reporting and operational enforcement of policies, and procedures, and internal controls
  • Drive short-term process improvements with an eye toward longer term finance transformation improvements
  • Participate in evaluation of potential new systems, specifically with regard to procure-to-pay and intercompany modules
  • Evaluate and implement SOX 404 controls to accounting policies and procedures

Requirements

  • 10+ years with a mix of Big 4 and industry experience in a prior International Controller role
  • Experience with a fast-paced, always-on environment;
  • Supervise full-cycle accounts payable, including reviewing and validating all disbursements;
  • Experience driving transformation and efficiencies in controls and accounting systems;
  • Support month-end and year-end close process including annual statutory audit;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP & IFRS, current accounting trends, and developments
  • International reporting experience including legal entity accounting and consolidations
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with a data-driven mindset
  • Proven success in managing large teams and leading through change
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles and processes
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (i.e., pivot tables, data analysis, and formula creation)
  • Strong relationship skills with the ability to foster a sense of community with internal and external stakeholder
