Community Coordinator

Job Purpose: 
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of Fahari Innovation Hub including activating and engaging the innovation community and all communications related to
the Hub.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Community Coordination
  • Work with the Innovation Hub Lead to develop a community coordination strategy to include and guide the implementation of all community-related activities
  • such as meetups, design challenges, hackathons and career fairs.
  • Grow and curate the relevant innovation community of entrepreneurs, mentors, interns, support partner networks and KQ innovation champions, that are active
  • across different programmes at the hub.
  • Organize virtual and in-person events and workshops to drive engagement and knowledge exchange across the different programmes led by the Fahari Innovation Hub.
  • Work with digital tools and assets to engage and support the innovation community, including monitoring engagement and growing of Fahari Hub databases.
  • Act as primary point of contact for community engagement across the various teams and programmes.

Innovation Hub Operations

  • Provide analysis & content preparation (data on projects, PowerPoint presentations, briefs, etc.) for corporate priority topics and management reports.
  • Support the core processes of the Innovation Hub such as innovation sourcing; innovation bootcamps; sprint programme; thought leadership; scale-up enablement;
  • innovation services and knowledge management.
  • Coordinate procurement processes to acquire services from external vendors, including the preparation of procurement documents and long term agreements,
  • in close coordination with the procurement functions.
  • Contribute to the development of community engagement tool kits and collection of base documents for process-standardization and best practice creation and

Communication & Networking

  • Coordinate innovation bootcamps to train both internal and external stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in a Business related
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ cumulative working experience preferably in project management or business analysis, working with cross-departmental teams and leaders.
  • Leadership skills, project management, team facilitation, relationship management, problem-solving and effective communication skills
  • Profi ciency in MS Offi ce Suite

Customer Service Agent

Job Purpose: 
To deploy airline equipment in compliance to industry standards and customer airline Service Level Agreements
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Perform serviceability checks on ULDs.
  • Record all ULDs and accessories into and out of the Yard.
  • Assign duties to equipment operators.
  • Send SCM and UCM
  • Compile a list for all ulds supplied to each shipper/fl ight and hand it over to the team leader.
  • Compile a list of units to be taken to the workshop for repair and reconcile upon return
  • Ensure empty containers and pallet stacks are positioned at the aircraft side for uplift.
  • Position baggage containers.
  • Retrieve ULDs from baggage area and Ramp.
  • Ensure the work environment is clean.
  • Compile and send the performance report to the Team Leader/ Duty Controller .

Logistics Assistant – AOG

Job Purpose:
The role of a Logistics Assistant – AOG is to undertake the timely process of clearing and forwarding of overseas Aircraft spares especially AOG and critical parts to meet business requirements while ensuring the parts are securely delivered in accordance with air worthiness and Kenya Airways quality standards to support Schedule requirements of the Airline.
Principal Accountabilities (KEY Performance areas):

Accountability (Responsibility)

  • Ensure AWB, IPC and Invoice is provided on time to facilitate the application of prior release.
  • Collect AOG documents as per pre-alerts advised by Technical AOG team.
  • Update AOG status report and Tracker continuously to ensure correct information to internal customers.
  • Send status reports immediately after delivery of shipment to stores.
  • Ensure after Prior release approval, provided that entry is correctly completed to ensure nil queries.
  • Follow up to ensure cancellation where C402 is prepared
  • As AOG are time sensitive, proactively anticipate problems and address with immediate effect

Knowledge, Skills and experience:

  • Diploma in Clearing and Forwarding.
  • At least 2years experience in clearing and forwarding
  • Behavioural Competences:
  • Adequate knowledge of declaration on customs ICMS system
  • Sufficient knowledge and use of excel sheets for reporting

Financial Accountant

Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Manager Financial Accounting, the ideal candidate will be responsible for month end reconciliations of fixed assets, leases, prepayments,
direct operating costs and other reporting balances whilst ensuring adherence to agreed SLAs and internal controls.
Principal Accountabilities (KEY Performance areas):

Accountability (Responsibility)

  • Monthly GL reporting support which includes, monthly Journal preparations and posting.
  • Preparation of general ledger account reconciliations as assigned for accuracy and timeliness in as well as absence of long outstanding reconciling
  • items. Reconciling payables, prepayments, inventory, fixed assets, leases, petty cash, and Direct Operating Costs account balances etc.
  • Prepare an analysis of fixed assets, leases and direct costs ensuring they agree to the trial balance.
  • Support with end month reporting and analysis /preparation of financial statements.
  • Half-year reporting which includes support in the preparation of financial statements and handling of external and internal auditors.
  • Year-end reporting which includes support in the preparation of financial statements and notes and handling external and internal auditors.
  • Support the team in producing Group annual report and financial statements that meet statutory requirements and reporting standards (IFRS, IAS,
  • Companies Act, etc) as well as maintaining sound, accurate, reconciled and up to date financial records at least one month before statutory deadline.
  • Support in coordinating the audit process and resolve audit issues within three months after the completion of the audit to ensure controls effectiveness of controls.
  • Participate in the stock take for both technical and commercial stock and ensure laid down procedures are adhered to.
  • Support the team in fixed assets management.
  • Taking up new roles in financial accounting as may be assigned by the line manager.

Knowledge, Skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or any other business-related field from a recognized institution.
  • Must possess accounting qualification i.e. CPA K or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years practical experience in Finance in a busy Organization.

Cargo Pricing & Revenue Manager

Job Purpose:
To support the sales team by formulating and enforcing pricing & revenue policies through proactive initiation/negotiation/implementation and management of the
rate offering of Kenya Airways and interline partners for network revenue generation in line with revenue budget.

Principal Accountabilities (KEY Performance areas):

  • The Cargo Pricing and Revenue Manager will:
  • Provide budget assumptions for effective budget
  • Work with Network Planning, Passenger Revenue Management and Freighter & Product Development Department to enhance current schedules and develop new routes
  • Formulate network pricing policy to guide sales team in implementation to ensure budget targets are met
  • Proactively manage fact-based inventory policies to achieve revenue maximization on all the KQ flights
  • Negotiate pricing strategies with partners to optimize revenues in joint ventures
  • Identify off-line business opportunities to expand airline’s & cargo activities through SPA arrangements
  • Negotiate interline pricing policies and file/renew when expired and analyze/push interline sales as a second revenue stream
  • Formulate and enforce cargo “Fly as Booked” policy through the hub to deliver expected service levels
  • Evaluate cargo flows to identify opportunities for capacity variation & new route/capacity development
  • Review business analysis & reports to update networkwide pricing & capacity policies
  • Develop, maintain & enforce departmental procedures to ensure effective process flow regarding spot rates and promo rates/tactical
