Payables Accountant
- Location. Nairobi
PAYABLES ACCOUNTANT
Our Client, a leading Tours & Travel Company seeks to recruit a Payables Accountant who will ensure that the supplier accounts are handled professionally. The role holder will also be responsible for the provision of timely, accurate and efficient control of invoice processing, bills payments and expense analysis.
Reports to: Finance Manager
Location: Nairobi
Responsibilities
- Responsible for Bookings of supplier’s invoice, reconciliation of statements and payments within agreed timelines.
- Ensure Cheques are properly written, signed as per the bank set time frames and remittance advice is availed.
- Update and maintain database of payables contacts with name, telephone, e-mail, fax for all suppliers.
- Establish and maintain proper correspondence with the clients to ensure that Credit facilities with the creditors are not revoked.
- Ensure that all reconciling or disputed items with suppliers are conclusively resolved with support from Line Manager where necessary.
- Ensure that non-BSP airlines are strictly paid as per the set credit terms with full reconciliations.
- Analyzing all balance in accounts payables.
- Prepare and present Accounts payable schedule to management on a weekly basis, for prioritizing payments.
- Filing and custody of transaction documents.
- Ensuring withholding tax ADMs are properly adjusted.
- To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Management from time to time.
Professional/Academic Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or any related field
- A minimum of 2 years working experience in a similar position. Experience in a busy travel agency office will be an added advantage
- Minimum C+ KCSE
- Certified Public Accounting with at least (CPA) part III.
Essential Skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Have the ability to work independently as well as a team.
- Attention to detail and highly numerical
- Effective multi-tasking skills, with ability to co-ordinate, priorities and organize workload and meet deadlines.
Invoicing Accountant
- Location. Nairobi
Responsibilities
- To raise invoices on daily basis and ensure that all company sales are accounted
- To ensure that all invoices are raised, processed and dispatched as per client set standard
- To ensure that the processed refunds and credit notes are duly authorized.
- To ensure that accountable documents are properly filed.
- To generate daily sales report and submit to immediate supervisor on a daily basis.
- Ensure an exception list is circulated on daily basis to the relevant offices.
- Ensure an exception list is generated for Non-BSP airline sales with reference to sales reports from the TC
- To maintain and give reports of exception list for transfers using daily transfer schedule.
- To monitor and give report of the transfer exception list.
- To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Management from time to time
Professional/Academic Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or any related field

Cashier
- Location. Nairobi
Responsibilities
- To maintain petty cash and ensuring that cash is available for the day-to-day operations.
- To ensure that all the Petty Cash Vouchers are properly authorized
- To post the petty cash transaction in E-Travel.
- To make the daily Petty Cash Vouchers returns to the Senior Accountant for claiming and reimbursement.
- To ensure that all the bank credit cards reconciliations are done by the set date of every month
- To reconcile the daily collections and ensure that all un-banked receipts are handed to the Senior Accountant on the close of business.
- To allocate cash and credit card to the correct account
- To ensure that all accountable documents are filed.
- To run credit cards, bank and follow up with the Bank card Centre
- To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Management from time to time
Professional/Academic Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
- KCSE C + minimum
- At least Certified Public Accounting (CPA) part I.
- A minimum of 2 years working experience in similar position. Experience in a busy travel office will be an added advantage.
