Imports and Marketing Officer Job at Corporate Staffing

Our client is a leading Motorcycle Manufacturer and one of the leading automakers. They seek to hire imports and marketing officer who will be tasked with ensuring smooth flow of importation processes as well as control marketing material stock.

Responsibilities

• Lias with clearing agents and international suppliers, shipping agents to ensure good flow of importation processes
• Liasing with Marketing Merchandise suppliers and service providers and Marketing agencies
• Source for suppliers and Promptly liaise with them to ensure timely delivery of Sales & Marketing materials and campaigns
• Ensure smooth flow of All goods imported from the country of origin to destination point
• Follow up with the shipper, the clearing agents assigned to facilitate the customs clearance process and finally ensure that they arrive in the same condition as they left the place of origin and within the time frame that was set.
• Procure marketing materials
• Control marketing material stock and send periodical reports for the same
• Ensure that all the documents related to (CKDs) are correct and the contents thereof match the consignment being shipped
• Ensure that necessary documents relating to customs clearance are dispatched from country of origin and received by the clearing agent before the shipment docks.
• Ensure that all the necessary documentation generated by treasury, KRA and our local bank that are related to the shipment in question are ready and handed over to the clearing agent in time before the shipment docks.
• Follow up on a regular basis the ETA of the shipment dispatched and confirm if it matches the ETA set.
• Follow up with the clearing agent on the status of shipment under customs clearance.
• Supervise or delegate the opening of the shipment once it arrives.
• Facilitating the timely retirement of bonds as soon as the particular consignment is completely invoiced.
• Monitor the usage of bond amount allocated by the bank to ensure it is always adequate
• Preparing the necessary documentation required to dispatch the spare parts from the dispatch point of origin.
• Ensure that necessary documents relating to customs clearance are dispatched from the parts suppliers and received by the clearing agent before the shipment docks.
• Follow up on a regular basis the ETA of the shipment dispatched and confirm if it matches the ETA set.
• Follow up with the clearing agent on the status of shipment under customs clearance.
• Gather market intelligence on legislation relating to and affecting the importation process in general and customs clearance process in particular. This includes legislation issued by bodies such as KEBS.
• Ensure there is proper record keeping of all import and export documents
• Coordinating periodical inventory stock taking of marketing Materials and related inventories
• Keep and update marketing stock records

Qualifications

• A minimum of Diploma in clearing and forwarding related studies
• At least three years’ experience in a similar position.
• Must be proficient in Computers
• The associate should have a good understanding of the import and export process with emphasis on motorcycle CKDs.
• They should be a person requiring minimum supervision and able to meet deadline
